If you do not have a GPS,all the mapping features in the software will
be available - viewing/scalling,
search, etc., but the function of tracing your current location
by satellites will obviously be disabled.
You can choose from a wide selection
of handheld stand alone devices, car navigators, and PDA-based
solutions (Pocket PC).
If you already have a Pocket PC PDA,
then you just need a GPS adaptor for it. You can buy a Garmin (e.g.
wireless GPS-10 with bluetooth, or CF Que), or any other one (Holux,
Pretek etc.)
